General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)


Healper ApS (“Healper”) complies with the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, as it is also called, which contains rules for how Healper may process personal data.

This information text, considered an integral part of our privacy policy, aims to clarify how Healper handles your personal data and what rights you have. The information is directed to you as:

  • A client at Healper – when you create an account, use the matching service, book sessions through our platform, and/or pay for the services we provide.

  • A therapist at Healper – when you create an account, manage bookings and clients linked to you, provide services physically or virtually, and/or have payment transactions related to provided services.

  • A member of Healper.dk and create a login account or apply for a therapist account.

  • Visiting our website or our social media platforms.

  • Participating in our marketing activities or customer surveys.

  • Communicating with Healper in other ways, such as through our customer service or direct messages on social media.

Your privacy is important to us. Therefore, we are committed to storing and handling the personal data collected about you in a secure manner and in accordance with the data protection regulation. We have procedures for collecting, storing, deleting, and updating personal information.

We encourage you to read the information carefully. If you have questions about how your personal information is handled, you are welcome to contact us. Relevant contact information is continuously found in the text where they have their relevance.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any information that can be directly or indirectly (i.e., together with other information) linked to you, such as name, social security number, IP address, address, email, and meeting and purchase history.

What personal data do we process about you, and why?

In this section, we explain how your personal data is used to provide you with relevant experiences, services, and offers.

Profile creation – information processing

When you create an account on Healper.dk without filling out the matching form, and when you apply to create an account as a therapist

When you create an account on Healper.dk, we handle the following information:

  • Your name and personal information (e.g., telephone number, email, and postal code)

  • Data you choose to add or change in your profile.

We handle your personal data to:

  • Securely verify your account and validate your email.

  • Be able to manage communication with you.

  • Be able to securely separate your data from others.

  • Send relevant information to you and your therapist.

  • Match you with clients through our matching algorithm.

  • Improve our matching algorithm.

Legal basis for processing personal data

  • The data subject has given consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes when the account was created.

  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a contract to which the data subject is a party or to act upon the data subject's request before entering into such a contract.

Retention period

Verified accounts are stored as long as you have an account with Healper. Accounts that are not verified are automatically deleted after 30 days following the expiration of the reminder email. If you wish to delete your account, your personal data will be deleted, except for the information and/or documents that you may have shared with Healper or directly with therapists, and which the therapists and Healper need to fulfill their/our legal obligations.

Filling out the matching questionnaire – information processing

When you fill out the matching questionnaire, you must first create an account as a client on Healper.dk and/or book sessions through our platform. When you fill out the matching questionnaire and create an account on Healper.dk and/or start a session with a therapist, we handle the following information:

  • Your name, contact information, gender, and card number.

  • Information about your preferences and requirements for a therapist.

  • Health information you provide in the matching questionnaire, which you have given your express consent for Healper to process.

  • Therapists use Healper's platform to register started/ongoing treatment according to statutory requirements.

  • Information about your appointment bookings and purchase history, e.g., number of bookings, dates per booking, and price.

  • Survey results and your feedback on services provided through our platform.

  • Payment information and payment history.

We handle your personal data to:

  • Securely identify you as a user.

  • Match you with the appropriate therapist to provide you with a high-quality service.

  • Provide your chosen therapist with relevant data for the therapist to optimally perform the therapy, this may include the information you have entered in the matching questionnaire before your first meeting, to improve the quality of the treatment.

  • Pay for bookings, including card number handling for card payments.

  • Detect and prevent fraud related to card payment.

  • Handle and deliver what you have purchased in accordance with our purchase conditions.

  • Notify you (via email or similar electronic communication) about any changes to the agreement.

  • Develop statistics on trends, such as most attractive meeting times and most booked therapists, to improve our services.

  • Process personal data about you together with our payment service provider if you choose to pay for the service with a private invoice with or without partial payment.

  • Optimize the service and update our matching service to increase quality.

  • Market our services and products, e.g., through an email containing links to the therapists you match with.

Legal basis for processing personal data

  • The data subject has explicitly consented to the processing of these personal data for one or more specific purposes.

  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.

  • The processing is necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a contract to which the data subject is a party, or to act upon the data subject's request before entering into such a contract.

Retention period

Your data is stored with Healper as long as you have an account with us. You can choose to close your account at any time, where all information is deleted by us. Therapists and Healper record and store data for your ongoing treatment as long as this is considered relevant and where legislative requirements exist.

Therapist profile – information processing

When you apply to create an account as a therapist at Healper.dk and are approved to manage sessions and thus treat clients, we handle the following data:

  • Your name, contact information, profile picture, gender, VAT number, and related information.

  • Information about your booked meetings, price, transactions, and payment information.

  • Information about your bookings and client history, e.g., number, dates per booking, and price.

  • Information about your qualifications, certificates, credentials, and other relevant information presented to clients and/or the basis for the matching service.

  • Information forming the basis for accounting-related management of these in our accounting system.

We handle your personal data to:

  • Securely identify you as a user.

  • Provide relevant and qualitative description of the services and specialty area delivered to our clients in case of a match.

  • Optimize the matching service and increase quality.

  • Ensure payment for the delivered service, including handling of payment information.

  • Detect and prevent fraud related to card payment.

  • Manage and deliver services you have provided to clients in accordance with our contractual terms.

  • Notify you (via email or similar electronic communication) about changes in bookings.

  • Market our services and products.

  • Compile statistics on trends, such as customers' survey results related to the services you provided, to improve our services.

Legal basis for processing personal data

  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which Healper is subject.

  • The processing is necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a contract to which the data subject is a party, or to act upon the data subject's request before entering into such a contract.

Retention period

Your data is stored with Healper as long as you have an account with us, and we have an ongoing agreement. You can terminate your agreement at any time under the termination clause, where data that is not relevant is deleted. Data that requires Healper to comply with applicable legal requirements, e.g., the accounting act, is stored as long as we have a legally imposed requirement.

When you communicate with us

You may choose to communicate with Healper, e.g., through social media, questionnaires, or in chat, conversation, and email with our customer service. When you communicate with us, we handle information you send to us, for example:

  • Name and contact information.

  • Information about your viewpoint, question, or case.

We handle your personal data to:

  • Respond to questions and handle your case, such as troubleshooting, handling complaints, and payment issues.

  • Provide requested information and/or service.

  • Improve our services and the information we provide and publish through our website.

  • Analyze communication to improve our service.

Legal basis for handling

  • We process your personal data for our and your legitimate interest in handling your case according to the so-called balance of interests.

  • The processing is necessary to protect interests that are of fundamental importance for the data subject or for another physical person.

Processing of special categories of Personal Data

  • We process special categories of Personal Data such as health information with the purpose of being able to deliver our service/product to you.

  • We process special categories of your Personal Data based on your consent in accordance with GDPR Article 9 (2), point a and Article 6 (1), point a. It is voluntary for you to give consent and you can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Healper at support@healper.dk. Be aware that we cannot deliver our service without consent to process the special categories of your Personal Data.

Retention period

  • We store your personal data for up to 12 months after the case is completed to ensure traceability in your communication with us (this concerns our customer support). Direct messages on social media are deleted immediately after the communication has taken place. However, this is excepted in situations where it is assessed that there is an immediate danger to you or another physical person, whereby we will process information in accordance with protecting vital interests for you or for another physical person.

Who do we share your information with?

  • Healper does not sell your information to a third party. However, we may share your personal information with the following categories of recipients:

  • Providers, both within and outside the EU/EEA, that, for example, provide IT services, cloud service products, handle customer service matters (software bugs) or perform payment intermediation and credit information on Healper's behalf.

  • Your bank, when you pay with a credit card, with Mobile Pay, or other payment methods.

  • Other recipients if it comes from legal requirements, other rules, or government decisions.

  • Recipients that handle personal data on Healper's behalf must always enter into a so-called data processing agreement with us to ensure that your data is handled correctly and securely. If we use providers that handle your personal data on our behalf outside the EU/EEA, we take special security measures, such as signing data processor agreements that comply with the standard model for data transfer adopted by the European Commission and available on the European Commission's website.

When your personal data is shared with a recipient who is independently responsible for personal data, such as an authority or a bank, the recipient's privacy policy and information on the management of personal data apply.

Confidentiality

  • Healper must respect the confidentiality of electronic documents handled through the website and may not prepare access to content or disclose such documents to unauthorized persons. However, Healper reserves the right to disclose information that Healper is required to disclose due to administrative decisions, court judgments, or legislation.

Your rights

  • You have certain rights under the data protection law:

  • The right to access, which personal data we process about you.

  • The right to have corrected and updated the personal data we have registered about you.

  • The right to have deleted the personal data we have registered about you. If you wish to have your personal data deleted, we will delete all information that we are not legally required to keep.

  • The right to data portability: In certain cases, you have the right to receive personal data, which you have given to Healper, in a structured format.

  • The right to withdraw consent, which means that processing thereafter ceases unless we are legally required to process the personal data.

You can also contact the data protection authority through their website www.datatilsynet.dk to exercise your rights.

Validity of the text and notification of changes

This information text was last updated on December 1, 2023, and may change. If we make significant changes to the text, we will notify you no later than 30 days before the change takes effect via email, SMS, or our service.
